The long and short of it is that we’re looking for an experienced salesperson with a proven track record to help fuel the growth of our business. This description doesn’t exactly set pulses racing so let’s add some “sales spin” to it.

For the right person this is a fantastic opportunity. We’re a successful digital agency start-up and right now, as a business, we’re in a very good place. Since we began trading two and half years ago we’ve grown to become a team of 5 full time permanent staff looking after a dozen active clients, all of whom have returned for repeat business. All of this growth has been achieved organically without taking on any debt along the way. To date the sales for the business have been handled by the managing director. Our grand aim for this year is double our size as a business, and to do that we’re going to need a professional salesperson – you. If you’re an experienced salesperson with a background in technology, and ideally website design and development, then this should be the equivalent of shooting fish in a barrel. With an uncapped commission structure, and a definite will to grow as a business, then the potential benefits are huge.

About the role

The job is straightforward to explain – we need a constant pipeline of new business, your job will be to find and deliver it. You’ll be working very closely with the managing director with the idea that your sales skills will be complemented by their technical knowledge. You’ll be expected to use your initiative and take responsibility for:

  • Lead generation
  • Nurturing of prospect relationships through to the conversion to client status
  • Finding and submitting response to suitable tender opportunities
  • Setting our strategy for acquiring new business

You will earn a percentage of the net profits for all new business you generate for the company. This will not be capped in any way. The remuneration for the role is negotiable depending on experience.

About You

You’ll have a proven sales track record, ideally in a website related company. Moreover you will be a natural salesperson:

  • You’re first instinct is to pick up the phone and call
  • You find it easy to strike up a rapport with people
  • You’re naturally upbeat and are aware sales is a numbers game
  • You’re tenacious and hard working
  • You’re constantly coming up with new ways to find business
